It is my first time going to a concert.. What a fantastic experience! I have watched a few concert dvd and always wonder what the feeling would be like if i was right there. I would like to say "no regrets!" but... haiz.. didnt managed to purchase the concert merchandise even after queuing for quite some time. so disappointed!

Received my first ever fedex package today. Although technically, i could have gotten it ystd.

its a solid cover, but the back of it feels plasticky compared to the rubber and classy feeling of the phone. And due to that, e phone no longer "sticks" onto the table. It easily slides across the table, something which i do not really like. Maybe they want to demonstrate the quality of their shock protection. All the ports are covered and well protected. It also make the side buttons easier to access. It added abit of weight and bulk, making e phone thicker than it is supposed to be. but overall im quite pleased with the protection it gives to my phone. Although i am rather careful in trying to ensure it does not drop, the solid cover adds peace to my mind.

An Observation

Its been quite some time since i last blogged. (I am wondering if i am going to use this opening for my future posts as well...)

I haven been rushing assignments since CNY!!! How i long to play soccer, watch variety shows and play my PSP. Been getting rather sleepy these days. Mondays seem unusually long (as usual..) My lesson started at 10am, ended early at 11.15. Start my reading from 11.30 to 2.30, while nodding off at the same time. Had a short break till 4 and lesson early (surprisingly) at 5.40. After reaching home and finishing my dinner, i am rushing my project. Taking a break from the project now.

Haha, i wonder if anyone is still reading this after that utmost boring paragraph. I think i am learning the skills of the authors of my reading coursepack. Boring people to death.

Anyway, i have made an interesting observation during my toilet break in school. Nope, the observation was not made in toilet but on my way to the toilet. There was this group of presumably primary school students on some science exploration or something. The prof (i assume) was demonstrating some science theories through experiments.

Prof: "Okie, i need a volunteer for the next experiment..."
Before he could even finish his line, the students go "Me Me Me!!!"

Were you one of those kids when you were young? Volunteering enthusiastically at any chance. This scene reminded me of another scene.

Prof: "I need a volunteer for the next question." (note, this sentence could be 2x longer than the one in the scenario i witness today, and the prof always have the time to finish his sentence.)
Students: *silence*

What had happened to that enthusiasm? Given another context where it does not involve teachers and students, the scenario would most likely remain the same. I admit i am one of the "guilty" personnel who seldom volunteers as enthusiastically as those pri school kids. (But i do not think i will change anytime soon too.)

Have we become too void of emotions in a public sphere? Do we have to witness artistes going through incredible stuns or look out for the presence of attractive prizes before we start donating? (Our "donations" has to be worthwhile...?)

While waiting at a bus stop this evening (okie this makes 2 observations instead of 1 as stated in the title...), the rubbish bin was smoking. The contents were burning, probably due to some inconsiderate user. Despite the many people present at the bus stop, none bothered to even attempt putting out the "fire".

I was hesitating if i should take out my water bottle and pour the remaining water into the bin. Alas, i decided to remain as guilty as the others and ignored the smoking rubbish bin like what the others were doing.

For a moment i felt ashamed for lacking the guts to do something out of the "norm".

My Geeky Post

It has been some time since i updated my blog. So here it is, a geeky post on mobile phones.

It all started in Sept last year when i wanted to get a Sony Ericsson Satio for my birthday. However, i have not fulfilled 18 months of my mobile contract and i needed to top up a $100 to get the phone. I decided against it since i only need to wait a few more months. Thank goodness i resisted the temptation.

Satio runs on Symbian S60v5. This should be familiar with Nokia users. It packs a decent camera, the feature that got me attracted. It is a pretty decent entertainment phone.

Since parting use with my Sharp 903SH, i missed the crystal clear pictures from the CCD sensors and the Sharp AQUOS LCD display. Not to mention the flip factor. The only reason why i stop using the 903SH is due to the thick build of the phone. It is twice the thickness of my current Samsung F480. (Can't imagine how am i going to squeeze it into my skinny jeans.) Of course, there are newer Japanese phones which has the style factor (trust me, it is more stylish than the iPhone. See e video below.) but their functions are limited as it is not supported in Singapore.

Anyway, the latest and hottest term in 2010 is Smartphones and Apps. iPhone has revolutionize how a mobile phone should be like. The ever-aging Windows Mobile failed to hold its ground and iPhone rose to popularity. After being one of its kind, Google has finally provide us some alternatives with their Android operating system. Nokia start to develop their own apps store too. Motorola caught my eye with its "new" line of phones. Motorola Milestone (Droid) seems promising.

It is packed with a 3.7 inch touchscreen, qwerty keyboard with a 5-way button. After using the F480, i really miss my physical keypads. Here is a picture of the phone.

It is not particularly stylish but it is good enough for me. With the Android Apps developing, this phone may be a strong contender to the iPhone. However, the marketing strategies of the telecos in Singapore is not helping the competition. This phone was released in Europe for quite some time, but it is not brought in. Instead, the Motorola Dext is being marketed instead. It will probably take some time before it "reaches" our shore. (although it is already available at some stores which imported the phone.) Here is a video which shows what the phone can do. The video is a review of a user after 24 hours of the phone. It is 25 mins long. For interested viewers, it is worth your time.

The downside of the phone (or rather almost all smartphones) is the lack of camera capabilities. I dare to say, most phones available now in Singapore cannot hold a candle to the camera capabilities of Japanese phones which are made a few years ago. The closest would probably be the Sony Cybershot phones and probably the Samsung Pixon.

What attracts me to Smartphones is the ability to access information on the go. In addition, no 2 phones are likely to be the same with the presence of Apps. You can build a personalized/customized phone to your personal usage. The newer Smartphones are also packing in GPS functions.

To be truly honest, i was quite tempted to get a iPhone too before i stumble upon this phone. However, the number of iPhones floating around is too great! I even see a few aunties using it. No offence to the aunties but that really ruined my temptation to get one. As for Windows operated phones, users can anticipate the launch of their Windows 7 for mobile. (I am not sure what is the official term though.) The way we perceived mobile phones will no longer be the same.

Now, moving on to a phone which i really want to have but probably will not have. the SH-01B!

Here is a brief intro to the phone's outlook.

Look at the cover of the phone, so stylish with LED lights surrounding the phone. Oozing with class. And the swivel touchscreen, with a touch cruiser in the middle of the keypad. Too bad there is no wifi, if not i might think of parting with my money to get it.

Pre- V Day Dinner

As a chinese, i don't particularly enjoy CNY. (Maybe I prefer to identify myself as a Singaporean than a Chinese, or maybe i am just weird.) Especially this year's since it collided with V-Day.

So we had a early V-Day dinner. The plan was to watch the movie "Valentine Day" to get into the mood, followed by a great dinner. To end it all, a walk along the "river". Hahaha. but once again CNY took it all away. We ended up doing last minute shopping, dinner, more last minute shopping, and ended the night with even more frantic "auntie-style 3 for 1 dollar~" shopping. (We were the only young people among the whole big group of uncles and aunties.) hahahaha. I have such a unique girlfriend who exhibits her "unique-ness" on a supposedly romantic V day dinner night like this. Hahaha.

I shall focus more on the dinner from now on b4 i get killed on the actual V day. We ate at Tao's Restaurant. The crew are very friendly and the service is excellent. They even offered to take a photo of us.. They offer a 6 course meal for lunch and 7 course for dinner. (Starter, Salad, Soup, Main, Dessert, Tea. Extra grilled mushroom and mango sorbet for dinner.) The food is not really fantastic but good enough to make me want to go back there to try out other food on the menu. (The salad is putting me off though.)

DINOSAURS!!!!

after a few failed attempts, we finally made our way to DINOLAND~~ okie, Jurong Bird Park to be exact. It has been a very long time since i last visited the Bird Park. If not for the Hollywood Dinos exhibition, i doubt i will be there.

Hollywood Dinos is an exhibition of robotic dinosaurs. The "dinosaurs" look as if they have escaped from Jurassic Park. It is quite a pity that the exhibit is quite small. I think we took around 15 to 30 mins to complete the whole thing. (That is including the time taken to take pictures.)

It is such a waste of money to buy red clothes that you will only wear during the Lunar New Year. As though the luck of 365 days is dependent on what you wear for that 2 days. Time to go out and look for some red/bright clothes.

Happy New Year!!!

It was an interesting transition between 2009 to 2010. I went on a cruise with my family, dear and my cousin. It has been a very long time since i went onboard Star Virgo. Although the ship itself is already kind of boring, it is a new experience as i go overseas with my dear for the first time...

30 Dec: Day 1
The boarding time was 8.30pm. As we were waiting to board the cruise, we were surprised by the number of Indians.

My cute little brother. I had such a hard time trying not to laugh while taking the picture. There were plenty of failed attempts though.

From the moment we start boarding, it was a fight for me to remain tolerant. The Indians have such a big family. 9 members seems normal for them. We were quite shocked that when the queue starts moving, many of them appear from nowhere to take the place in front of us. They started squeezing and pushing when it is obvious there is only 1 small entry. I think i irritated some of them as i tried to block their path (regardless of if they are trying to cut my queue) and provided a strong resistance to their pushing.

After finally boarding the cruise, we took a short walk around the whole ship.

We then went for a show by the performers. After which, we went to the casino. It was a first time for all of us. After which the 3 girls tried the jackpot machine. As the machine only accepted paper notes, i went to the reception counter to change my plastic notes. The person was slightly shocked when i say i need the paper notes for the jackpot machine. He asked me if i am over 18 and check my identity card. "I am sorry i need to check as you look so young." hahahaha.

We end up sleeping near 4am.

31 Dec: Day 2. Stop over at Port Klang. Shopping at Mid Valley Megamall.

The fact that we were on a cruise tempted me to take a sunrise shot. Something which i will definitely do in Singapore (due to sleep.) We woke up at 6.45am so that we can make it on time to witness the sunrise which was stated to be 7.15am. Sadly, the weather was not very good as the clouds occupy the sky. Having no luck with the sunrise picture, we resorted to...

taking pictures of ourselves! hahahaha. We kind of have the mentality that when we have nothing to do, we take pictures of ourselves. We have never ever take pictures of ourselves so much during a trip.

We went back to sleep after a short stay on the deck. We missed out breakfast due to sleep. Haha. Not something unusual. However, the thing about cruise is that we seem to be eating at every other hour. 8-10 was breakfast, 10.30 to 11.30 was morning tea and 12 was lunch! We ended up just taking our lunch. After which we arrived at Port Klang.

We initially intended to go to the Petronas Tower. However, the guided tour kind of turns us off so we went shopping instead at the Mid Valley Megamall. Not much pictures taken here as time was precious. The mall is really huge. However, we felt as if we were shopping in Singapore when we see so many familiar brands. The difference is that my Mom ordered us to expand finish the money she changed. So there was a less regard for the cost. Haha. I am so glad that my dear had such a fruitful shopping session. That will mean more eye candy for me. Hahaha.

Finally, the countdown moment. This was where i lost my tolerance for the Indian passengers. In a already limited space, they barged in without any regards for the safety nor the space of others. They did not care if they were pushing people off balance or if their elbows were in the face of others. And they will conveniently stand right in front of your face after barging in, blocking any vision you have other then their hair and their backs. Last but not least, they take out their cameras trying to shoot the performance. Their elbows were flying everywhere and their body leaning everywhere. I am sure they are excellent in packing sardines because they will squeeze at every other free space.

Then the countdown came. 5... 4... 3... 2... 1! HAPPY NEW YEAR! The atmosphere was really high. We got squeeze pretty much to the centre of the area. We quickly got out before everything turns chaotic.

Went for supper and we got really sick of the cakes. We had too much of them. hahaha.

1 Jan: Home Sweet Home.

It is a relatively short day. We went for our first breakfast ever. The breakfast is fantastic! After which we did some last minute shopping and clearing of bills and stuff.

Bacon! Scrambled eggs! Toast! Baked Beans! Hashbrown! i am still drooling whenever i think of such a breakfast.

A trip on Star Virgo is never complete without BINGO! hahaha. not true but so far that has been the practice of my family. Dear was only 2 numbers away from $1k. It would have made the trip much more memorable. haha.

So thats about it as we reached Singapore reluctantly. Although we had enough of the cruise, all of us felt that the holiday is kind of short. It finished before we knew it. I guess that also marks the last trip for me on Star Virgo. The food is getting worse, and i felt that i went on "Cruise India" instead. I have also experienced quite an Indian countdown. One which is rather "memorable" and unforgettable. On the bright side, it was something out of the usual. If in Singapore, we will probably have a quieter and calmer countdown.

Now, time to recover our sleep and get back to work. We have one more week to get over the holiday mood. No more eating like the way we ate during the past few days...

Belated Merry Xmas... and an advance Happy New Year!!

I had a rather busy christmas period. Lots of shopping, photo-taking, movies and of course not forgetting the food.

23rd:
We visited the botanical gardens. Heard that there was some interesting christmas tree there so we decided to go there and take a look. There are many trees made and designed by various schools and organisations. However, the night lighting does not really differentiate them apart from each other.

The decorations on this tree make it look so magical.

After which, we stop over at Ion for a quick coffee break. We took some pictures before heading out to Marina Barrage.

The wind was so strong that my pictures turn out so blurry. My tripod was even shaking at some point of time. Sadly, the only focused picture of the flyer is one where our faces are not in focus. It was my first attempt with night photography on tripod. Obviously i need lots of practice.

24th Christmas Eve:
Planned to go Bird Park but the bad weather in the morning disrupted the plan. Even in the afternoon, the sky was cloudy. We decided to play safe and give it a miss. Went to vivo in the evening to catch Sherlock Holmes. And then...

PARADISE... sooooo nice....

25th Merry Christmas:
Nothing much. Just dinner and movie. Watched the chipmunks.

The pizza is nice with the cheese and nacho dips. Very interesting and delicious taste.

27th:
Went for my first RT... It is kind of slack, i. Hopefully it is because it is the first session so it is more of an orientation session. If following sessions are like this, i doubt i can pass the test in 4 weeks time.

28th:
Just finished watching Buzzer Beat. And that explains my updated header picture. I cant exactly remember what the Japanese wording is but it goes something like "Work towards your dream, your number 1 fan". I felt that Yamashita Tomohisa is beginning to look like Takuya Kimura. In the drama, the clothes he wear and his charisma gave me that feeling. oh and there is definitely many scene of his "meat" for those drooling female fans.

Going off to cruise with family and dear in a few days time.. woooo.. hopefully the weather will be nice and it will be a wonderful and memorable trip.

went down to orchard today to shoot while waiting for dear... apparently i only covered one side of the whole stretch of road... will go down again someday to cover the other side and of course, the night shots...

this one is the one outside ion. It is an interesting tree as you can actually go into the tree. It looks beautiful inside and i think it will look even better at night. No shots inside the tree as i was unable to re-produce the beautiful lights inside.

This year, they have many reindeer with different dresses. This is particularly picked as i cannot help but wonder if it is from Thailand. You know what i mean...

It has been a very long time since i got poisoned by a local phone. This is since the day I stumble upon a forum showcasing Japanese phones. I owned one 903SH and i tell you, they have this huge and crystal clear screen with top notch cameras with CCD sensors.

It is more than 2 years since i got my 903SH. I could only see and dream about the later models with those sleek and classy design with amazingly clear and large screens.

FINALLY, the wait is over. Sony Ericsson has finally come up with the Satio, boasting 3.5" screen with a 16:9 ratio. YES, you can enjoy widescreen video! Those Japanese phones used LCD TV technology for their screen. Sony Ericsson has done it for the Japanese market. I wonder if it is true for this one though as it is not specified. Imagine having a Bravia for your hp screen. Anyway, if the videos available online can be trusted, it is definitely a very clear one. (I think they played HD version of the Transformer 2 trailer and its fantastic!)

It also boasts a 12.1 megapixel (although i do not really think the bigger the better.) and uses its own CMOS sensor. Slightly disappointing. The pictures turn out vibrant on the phone. Wonder how it would be like on the PC. But it has one feature which i like a lot. The touch focus. By simply touching the screen, the camera will take a shot with the desired focus area. Sounds like a big potential for playing with macro shots.

The downside is that there is no 3.5mm audio jack, which is very disappointing as it is supposed to be a powerful entertainment phone. There is also a slight bulge at the back where the camera is housed and it is definitely a fingerprint magnet.

Simply cant wait to get my hands on 1... (If only the model comes along with the phone. Hahaha. Oopsx someone going to come after me...)

Okie now i should really get back to my revision. Haha. Anyway just 2 more pictures.

School term has finally ended. This is how i ended my last lecture.

"So if you do not have any more questions, i conclude that this is the end of the module. I will be on leave from tomorrow onwards. If you have any questions, you can approach prof A. He has taught this module before. On the actual exam, prof B will be invigilating. The paper will be marked by prof A. I have already given him your CA grades."

Amazing! In fact, SHOCKING! And we were always in doubt what is the scope of the exam. He initially said closed book exam which is disastrous given the difficulty of the module. After much persuasion from the students, he said "If you want, you can bring 1 to 2 pieces of paper. I will ask the invigilator to close one eye."

WHAT? Ask invigilator to close one eye? so does that really mean helpsheet is allowed? and what is 1 to 2 piece? so its 1 or 2?

I find the above quote suiting to my situation. Yea, caught the movie after school today. The movie is freaking good to be missed. Highly recommended. Non-stop action and an absolute thriller.

While watching this movie, i had one take home message in my head. I am going to put in a harder effort in conserving earth. Don't get me wrong. I am not that noble, trying to save the earth and all. After watching 2012, my only thought is to try and conserve earth, hoping all that shit will not happen while i am alive.

Another quote which got stuck in my head. (I can't really remember the exact phrase but it goes something like this.)"The day that man stop fighting for each other, that is the day mankind will end."

exams are just around the corner. Slightly less than 2 weeks to be exact. There is absolutely no motivation to study at all.

Hey! Why is that so? you got a month break right after your exams no?

yea~~ and i have got 2 weeks of in camp training and 1 overlapping week of standby immediately after the exam period. I am not exactly sure if that is something to actually look forward to.

Looking at the issue more optimistically, perhaps i should be happy that i have this issue to complain and whine about. After all, this is my 2nd last final exams...

It has been a long time since i last visited orchard. The christmas lightings are up!! It is about time to bring out my big camera and snap away. In fact, i planned to bring it out but i changed my mind at the last minute. Nevertheless, got some not-fantastic-but still-decent photos to share~~

Caught the movie "Love Happens" today. i have to say, it is rather disappointing. The movie is about this guy who writes a self-help book on coping with the loss of a loved one. The book turned out to be a hot seller and he held seminars to help people cope with the loss. However, the fact is he never did get over the death of his wife.

Other than a few tear jerking moments where they describe their feelings and how their loved one dies, the rest of the movie was quite bland. With the topic that the movie is touching on, i expected a much more sadder show. The best part of the movie is... JENNIFER ANNISTON! I still think she is hot.

Exams coming in around 2 to 3 weeks time. Time flies. Soon i will be back in camp for my re-service. And also the start of RT. Haiz...

I can fully feel the effect of turning old today.

I woke up at around 8 plus yesterday morning to complete some work. Lessons started at 12 and ended at 7pm. To top it off, went for a kbox session with my secondary school friends from 11pm to 4am. It has been a very long time since our gathering involve something other than food. I finally reached home and slept near 5am. I felt amazed as i did not really feel very sleepy at 5am.

But, the result of my crazy day almost killed me today. I am feeling so sleepy and restless throughout the whole day. I practically sleep my day away, and i am still feeling sleepy now.

Come to think of it, i think i did not get myself a present.

Anyway, i was walking past the Adidas shop when this Liverpool shirt caught my eye. Furthermore, there was a promotion where a spending of $120 would get me a Liverpool scarf. The shirt already cost half of that amount. All those factors were probably the reason why i got the sudden urge to spend. My victory...

Maybe it was also because i got the feeling i have not buy anything for quite a long time. All the numerous times where i needed to control my urge to shop when i saw something that caught my eye... hahaha.. i somehow got the guilty feeling now.. argh! the evil of shopping...

I am just going to convince myself, it is a present for myself. Hopefully, this will reduce my guilt whenever i think about it.

Italian group claims to debunk Shroud of Turin

I have just read the above article which appeared on yahoo news. Scientist has managed to reproduce the Shroud of Turin(revered as the cloth that covered Jesus in the tomb). Apparently the italian group is trying to make a statement that the relic was actually man made.

After i read this article, a question came into my mind. What happens if there is strong evidence that the religious materials are fakes? Can you imagine the chaos if it is proven that the Buddhas, Christ, and all the gods and heaven stuff are all proven to be imaginary?

Before all the religious people out there start to flame me intensively, I am not dismissing your religion in any way. I do respect each religion, but I urge all of you to step back and think about this in a neutral stand. Start from ground 0 and think about this.

Personally, I believe people would probably break down and feel lost. To put it in a lighter way, imagine that the beliefs that determine who you are, how you live are suddenly taken away. This is especially problematic for people of older age. It will be hard to accept the beliefs you have been holding on to, is proven to be wrong.

I know my question is hypothetical. However, I also believe that even with strong evidence, the religions will still exist. As mentioned in the article:

Garlaschelli told Repubblica he didn't think his research would convince those who have faith in the shroud's authenticity.

"They won't give up," he said. "Those who believe in it will continue to believe."

Once again, to all religious people who happen to stumble upon this post, i apologize if i offend you in any way.

After so many years, i still cannot understand how Mid-Autumn Festival justify the littering of public areas with used sparklers and the amount of vandalism caused by the candle waxes.

Anyway next week is e-learning week, and this is what my lecturer said: "For e-learning week, study chapter 7 on your own. You may want to refer to the textbook so that it is easier to understand."

A question came into my mind. What is the point of having lecture in the first place, if we can understand the materials just by studying the notes and reading the textbook.

In fact, most of my lecturers are not really well-prepared for this e-learning week. Most of them just upload the notes and that is it. I cant help but think that the school is carrying out this trial too soon, without giving adequate time for the prof to prepare. Either that, or the prof cant be bothered. Perfect example of good cause, bad execution, bad results.

After winning the Champ League rights, tearing us apart.. now they win over the EPL rights too.

Everything will be fine if it is just a switch of channel but hell no! it is abt a change in setup box and everything. Given that it is only for 3 years, what is next? Are we going to see singtel having the rights for following 3 years, lose out to starhub for 3 years? So we have to keep rotating between them??

This is crazy! No consumer welfare!! Thinking should i make e switch....

hahaha my first try with collage.. wooo its damn cool!!! thanx germ for intro-ing me the fantastic software.. not only does it make pretty collages, it has a nice editing tool too. expect more to come..

dear brought me to some erm.. dunno where de restaurant. it is a bistro bar i think. they actually have a security guard post. hahaha. apparently there is some deutsch bank there. the atmosphere is very cosy and the service is excellent. nice place for chill out and definitely a good place for couples. if only its a weekend last nite.

so fast.. its the mid term break.. for ppl whu fail to realise it yet, the break does not mean rest.. it has the "destroy" notation. its the signals the start of many projects, the different tests and b4 you know it, its the final exam.

well.. it may sound terrible.. but den.. somehow i feel.. the real working life sux even more.. well.. shall enjoy while i can now..

it is amazing, but my prof just tell us today that our mid term test has been uploaded on the ivle. stunned. we are supposed to hand in our answers after the mid term break. not good for me. i dunno any other students and i gt no one to discuss with!!!

Had a great time playing soccer in e morning..

after tat went to town, was thinking perhaps can take some photo which might reflect singapore culture for my gem module.. was so hungry tat my stomach growl throughout e train ride.. so paiseh..

talking abt train ride, i suddenly felt like an animal.. there are ppl who wants to barge into ur territory of space, when there is so much space all ard and e train wasnt even packed. den they can turn behind, look at u with e spastic look. felt like punching that 2 kids. but i regain my sanity and i decided to step back.

went to take a look at topman and uniqlo.. i kinda have tat shopping mood when i first came out.. i jus realised i forgot to visit e other uniqlo store.. anyway.. the mood seem to die dwn after a while due to my tiring feet.. so i went to solve my stomach prob first..

I ACTUALLY QUEUED 15 MINS FOR THIS!!!! dunno wat got into me..

felt so paiseh, was finding a place so that i can take pictures of them, so i went to e upper levels of ION where it is all boutiques and e amt of ppl there is so much lesser.. the ppl sitting near me must be wondering wat am i doing.. (oh, the tako yaki was on e seat while i was squatting and taking e pic).. e smell so nice.. flying ard when i open it.. so i faster siam after finish taking photo..

den e bad things happen one after another.. my foot suddenly became so pain that i was almost limping.. think e blood sort of not circulating ah.. and den while i was making my way home, my earpiece spoil!!! e earpiece i buy in japan airport de.. the right side one not working.. although i got a spare earphone, it can only work for my mp3 player due to some special driver for noise cancellation.. now i cannot enjoy shows on my psp while in sch anymore!!

created my first panorama.. so cool.. hahaha but den its more for my mod so its nt v interesting.. mayb next time when i find a nicer landscape..

due to module requirements, was setting up a blog last night.. which sort of makes me wanna do this makeover thingy.. i do think it looks better now.. gotta do smth abt e header pic though.. kinda too big for my liking..

my very first lect.. enter a lect hall.. almost nv see any students from my batch.. only a handful.. next thing i notice.. almost half lect hall is china students.. and next i realise, most are yr 4 honours student.. double die..

THEN.. its abt linear algebra!! one of my worst topics.. triple die.. in deep shit.. to think all my stats module this sem v the maths.. still gt another potential module which will be exactly like this one.. DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE...

my 2nd lect is more interesting.. my first lect in 2 yrs plus 1 sem tat i see a lecturer givin lect on whiteboard.. he basically copy his handwritten notes and teach.. amazing.. he is swiss and his english is understandable.. thank goodness..

this almost marks e end of my holidays.. damn.. it just flew pass so quickly.. so many more things i wish i could have done..

had a soccer game ystd.. felt extremely great although half my body muscles are aching.. its quite amazing that i only managed one game for like 2 to 3 months.. argh.. quite busy due to a certain lousy job which teach me the worth of raw data..

finally pack all my papers and notes from e prev sem.. time to adjust back to schooling mood.. my 2nd last sem of my student life.. but den again.. e notes i jus printed look alien (not smth new anyway).. and it looks like math.. die.. im so going to struggle again.. the timetable for my core modules are insane.. either i choose a daily night lesson schedule, with exam papers close to each other.. or i choose a seemingly difficult combi with 2 days lasting from 12 to 8 with exam also close but not too close.. either way life is nt going to be easy..

was making my way to e other side of e island just now.. i would say driving on a national day night is quite great.. not much cars.. hahaha but as always i cant seem not to get lost.. saw fireworks on my journey though..

now that i got a job... i wish i didnt bother and jus whine.. i only managed a 10% of e quota for 1 day pay.. that sucks! quite low morale..

but now that i got e job, i know how hard it is to gather raw data, and how precious it is.. how tough it is to convince ppl, how hard to create that trust.. at least when i step out in a yr time, hopefully doing the processing instead, i will know and appreciate these raw data..

den today went out with family.. walked ard in marina and suntec.. den suddenly my dad say go kranji there gt one farm chalet.. WAH I NV BRING MY CAMERA LOH.. the view was rather unique i would say.. so i can onli make do with my camera phone..

was too bored.. so went shooting..

first stop was along AYE, spotted these railway track a long time ago.. tot it would be a nice place to take some photos.. but the weather was so hot and the sun was so bright.. couldnt realli see my shots on the screen of my camera.. so onli gt a few satisfactory shots..

next stop.. kent ridge park.. plan was to conquer the southern ridges.. i walked from NUH and up to e park.. DAMN i felt like i was trekking.. up slope, hot sun.. sweating profusely.. so many a times i felt like bashing in.. but i tink i might end up more lost.. (plus there were signs tat say beware of falling branches and trees) so i walked till i reach e carpark.. but den i tink its quite worth it.. its a very nice place.. got quite a few birds to spot.. i managed to see one woodpecker but i dun have enuff time to take a picture of it.. dun have zoom lens to begin with anyway..

the unknown bird.. apparently it was "calling" for me.. its chirping caught attention.. i even had time to change my lens for this photo.. (obviously my zoom still not power enuff even after changing..)

the steps remind me of e one i climbed back in taiwan.. but den again.. this is so much less tough..

third stop is Hort Park. spending much time, finally reach hort park.. it has a few mini themed garden.. quite pretty..

was watching the jap drama Akai Ito (i believe its called Red Thread).. its abt high sch romance and fate.. this guy and ger has the same birthday, happen to be in e same childcare, met each other once when they were young, and after that happen to be in e same class. may sound so cliche but its realli not bad a drama..

whenever i watch such sch drama, i cant help but tink of those days when we had a class of 40 ppl, when u had ur own grp of frds.. sch was more den jus studying, was abt having fun tgt, doing all sort of stuff.. and u know e next day u will see them again.. those sch excursion where we are jus messing ard instead of really focusing on the objective of the trip.. hahaha those days were so fun..

shit.. i sound so old thinking abt e past again.. i better find smth meaningful to do..

earlier watched one jap drama.. there was this girl with suicidal tendency.. her doctor tried to make her fall in love to help the girl.. the doctor den make her "die" once by disappearing and make her observe the guy tat fall in love with her.. he wanna let her see how e guy feel so devastated to the extend that he is like a walking dead.. it was to show her the meaning of her existence in that guy's life..

i know its such fictional but it leads me to think.. do we have to go to such extend to prove our existence.. but den again.. if there isnt someone who feel "dead" without u, can you proclaim your existence in this world? isnt it interesting to be able to just disappear and observe the ppl ard u, and know whu is truly affected by ur existence..

Although it was slightly last min, but managed to plan 2 surprise for dear.. hahaha.. wanted to make her gan dong till cry but only managed to make her speechless.. looks like my power not high enough.. in fact i mess up so much..

the day (or rather night) started at marina barrage.. decided to purchase a photo frame and put a picture of us in it and give her as a present.. very last min decision and i end up running everywhere to get it done.. plus a lovely gift box from prints so that she can store many more memories.. however e wind was kinda too strong at the barrage to light a candle, smth which i obviously overlooked.. haiz.. ended up in e car..

after which she was touched to tears by all the things that has happen so far for her birthday.. (which was why i tot i could make her touched to tears all by myself.. smth which i tink i overestimated myself.. hahaha.. but i still made her speechless :P)

she wanted to catch Night at Museum 2.. so i brought her to GV Gold Class at vivo.. haha.. was my first time watching there too.. and was the first time i turn her speechless.. she couldnt realli formulate one sentence when she realise it.. hehe.. the seats are so comfy, gt ur private table, and a button to call e staff to attend to ur needs.. like business class airline sia.. but the only downside is the seats are rather far away compared to the usual seats with e armrest up.. the movie wasnt tat great, but the experience is.. too bad its slightly too dark for pictures..

after we went window shopping ard vivo, brought her to have a nice candle light dinner up the cable car.. she turned speechless again as it was her first time up there.. not to mention having dinner up in e sky..

the dinner was so-so, but the experience was not bad.. but mayb due the to wet weather b4 our dinner, the air was abit humid and stuffy and the ventilation wasnt very good.. not to mention the way it shakes at times makes eating slightly difficult.. den for the first time, i made my dear felt uncomfortable.. haiz.. i feel so bad for not considering that she might not be able to withstand the shakiness of e cable car..

we den took a stroll dwn to the henderson waves.. wanted to give her the present there, but den.. gt so much ppl and noise there.. haiz.. shld have given her back at e restaurant which is more romantic.. so after sweating for a while, we make our way back home b4 i gave her e present outside her door.. i was so glad to see the way she smiled upon receiving it.. hehe..

not a very perfect day.. but den, her smile comforted me for not doing my planning well.. haiz.. nvm, this leaves me room for improvement right?? hehe..

it was very tiring.. preparing for e chalet and the decor stuff.. but it was all worth it after seeing how much she enjoyed it.. just look at her smile..

ystd had my first paper and my luck is well.. unbelievable..

it all started in the morning with a little accident in the toilet.. even b4 i started to bath..

next.. my earpiece bud drop to just beside the foot of some auntie.. den.. some f***ing as****e press the lift on almost every other level.. imagine ur lift stopping from level 17 all e way to level 10.. although some do have ppl entering.. end up gt 5 ppl in e lift taking a slow 7mins ride down the lift when it usually took abt 3 mins.. i could have just exit the lift and walk e stairs.. but remember my earpiece bud is still beside the foot of one auntie..

i thought the worse was over.. (i dun even wanan comment on my paper.. is realli see my luck in guessing those unsure qns and get saved from the negative marking..)

bad stuff just dun come alone.. den when i was rushing home from jp.. (i tried to see if i can make do with a little retail therapy.. hahaha.. sadly no returns..) there is this big jam due some works on a already narrow road.. i can only panic in my seat as my time is running out..

hahhaha THEN!!!! after i went home to put down my bag.. i amazingly left my wallet at home.. and only realise it after i reach the bus stop.. as i walk back, the bus zoomed past me.. after getting my wallet, i gotta walk under e hot sun to the mrt station.. in fact, during my walk i dun see any bus too..

but my day all change after i meet dear.. hahaha.. from a bad bad day, it became a fantastic day.. but i tink im a bad distraction to her as i was slacking while she is struggling to study..

today is time to study and undergo a tough period of 3 days.. 3 days of exams and my exam will be practically over.. cant wait..

tml is my first paper!!! amazing! i have actually studied for like 7 days??? wat a feat.. hahahaha

so excited.. 1 more week and my exams over.. okie tat also means i gt a crazy week of 5 exams in a period of 8 days.. 3 consecutive ones on mon to wed..

i think almost everyone in sg knows abt the AWARE thing.. its somewhat getting on my nerves.. for an organization with such a noble cause washing their dirty linens in public and making it such a big hoo-haa.. its not going to help their cause does it? what the public is more concerned abt, is not whether the take-over is orchestrated, or who is right or wrong.. i think the most impt issue is how are they going to promote their cause better.. why are they staging a internal power struggle? is that how "big" their big picture is? is that their main objective and vision of the organization..

anyway.. im still not nervous for my exam tml hahaha.. hopefully i dun go wobbly or blank tml morning.

noticed that my recent title for my post has been rather erm negative.. hopefully this is better..

was walkin towards e bus stop after sending my dear home when a sudden strong gust of wind blew.. i swear all the trees tilted.. next thing i saw those fragile stand with "Danger Keep Out" drop.. next i see a dustbin topple too..

now.. tat may be common.. but e thing tat happen next is damn incredible.. the dustbin start to roll, next thing dustbin split into the green body, the green bottom and the metal bin and start rolling across the basketball court.. well within a few mins.. the metal bin tat was rolling across the court, now it was ROLLIN TOWARDS ME!!!

after i reach the bus stop safely.. (other den lotsa sand and dust entering my eyes..) im so glad im in singapore.. where we dun have frequent fearful gust of strong winds.. like those typhoon prone countries..

AND LIVERPOOL IS COMING TO SINGAPORE ON JULY 26!!! WOOO

got waken up by stupid chirping birds at 7 plus am.. so irritating.. cant get back to slp.. thinking abt the liverpool match...

was wondering if i shld wake up this morning to catch the match.. luckily i didnt.. its such a disappointing match.. the number of errors.. 2 ridiculous error from our almost first team defenders.. great we can score 4 goals.. but our defence is crap!!! no van persie no adebayor.. but we allow arshavin to score 4!!! they took their chances well.. haiz.. is that goodbye to our title?? the only positive is the fighting spirit to savage a draw.. hopefully man utd will drop all 3 pts against them too.. hahaha

been feeling amazingly relaxed during this study break.. mayb becos of the stress of handling projects and final term test during the last few weeks of the sem.. and also becos i got dear beside me while studying.. hahaha.. usually i will do abt 3 to 4 hrs per day, with dear i managed to put in nearly 7 to 8 hrs per day.. thats like twice!!! hahaha.. somehow i am slightly ahead of my studying plan (cos my plan was based on my usual studying habit, which is 3 to 4 hrs per day.. hahaha)

but.. (there always seem to be a negative side) as exams nearing, i sort of gt tat bad feeling.. Although i think i finish studying, there seems to be smth missing.. is like.. 75% prepared but missing 15%.. hopefully i am jus paranoid and its not true..

FRUSTRATING!!!!

today is one of the most frustrating days ever!!!

1) due to our extreme last min-ness.. gotta go back sch to do the stupid project today... ARGH!!!

2) was all bright and sunny even till i bathed.. but once i left house, the sky miraculously turned dark.. and once i am in the train.. IT POURED LIKE IT HAS NOT RAINED FOR DAYS.. (when it is raining every other day..)

3) its one of those days when i could have watched the early liverpool match.. this season they had quite a few.. i dun mind sacrificing it for a date with my dear.. or with a gathering with my friends.. but definitely not stuck in sch.. it SUCKS!!! somemore we scored 4 goals.. what a match to watch..

4) and i reached home past 11. argh!!

5) and that macheda has scored again!!! (although i believe its unintentional.. damn lucky) i was so glad when i switch on my tv after i reach home to see the match draw at 1-1 with about 15 mins to go.. and after i went for a bath.. he scored!!! (wat a diff a bath made.. chelsea was wining 4-1 and after my bath, it became 4-3!!.. i was hopping its 4-4 instead though.. i almost got my wish when they just have to clear a goal bound shot at the dying mins..)

but then.. one gotta be optimistic.. at least i tried to bluff myself... and here is some "consolation":

1) because i happen to be in charge of finding the data for our movie database.. had quite an eye-treat when searching for pictures of actors.. u know, its kinda hard to find a decent photo of actress that are so hot.. i cant possibly put pictures of them skimpily dressed for my term project can i?? (too bad my prof is a female.. mayb it will work for a male..)

2) at least i fall back aslp for 2 hrs after waking up at 8am. wise choice indeed..

3) was sort of following the match thanks to soccernet gamecast.. at least they won 4-0.. put pressure on the devils..

but then.. i cant force myself to be over optimistic.. afterall i still gt a clsoed book final term test on tues which i haven start studying, and a presentation on tues too.. oh and my proj report which is due on mon..

sat.. had the relief of my life when benayoun scored that goal in injury time..

sun.. had the sigh of my life to see man utd come back from 2-1 with 10 mins left.. damn that macheda..

had my info system presentation ystd so i went out 30 mins earlier to prevent myself from being late for presentation.. guess where tat 30 mins went to.. waiting at the bus-stop near my home.. quite panicky.. well i guess e good thing was that i nv reach v earli.. (is tat a probable reason why SBS got fined.. long waiting time, bus that nv seem to have any space during evenings..)

gotta wear formal for the presentation.. its so amazing that after going back to sci for my lessons, i felt damn out of place for the 2 hrs plus... i am probably the only student from science in formal attire..

was doing the glossary for my open book final term test tml.. nv knew its so taxing and tiring.. got another final term test next week.. CLOSED BOOK.. amazing.. wonder how to cramp those info into my head to ans 6 qns..

was all clear sky... until i left house and reach the bus stop, ITS SUPER DARK!!!!

den it began to pour after i got on bus.. and after i meet dear.. e wind also start to anyhow blow...

went to the ever crowded IT Show.. but mayb becos its evening, and not many ppl finished work yet.. still able to move ard quite easily.. although its abit slow and jam at some booths... i think if tml go back will be worse..

most of e time go there to see gt wat new and interesting products.. usually nth much, but this IT Show gt a few differences.. first, there is a booth selling camera bags and tripod, and another booth selling dslr lenses.. those super zoom.. POWER~~~ looks like more and more getting into dslr.. next is a universal remote.. its nth new in concept, but this one uses the wii concept.. basically it is able to track e movement of the control and den diff things happen.. didnt realli see e details..

bought a 16gb thumbdrive... wooo.. hahaah finally gt one.. its abt time i think.. although i dun tink i will use it frequently yet.. but its quite reasonable price.. gt e last piece.. so lucky.. after i paid, heard another lady asking for it den was told out of stock le..

another thing tat caught my eye was a portable media player.. with tat i can utilize my tv more den jus for winning 11 and soccer matches.. its quite cheap at 99 bucks.. but den its so hard to make a decision on tat one.. especially when i wanna buy a tripod tooo.. need to consider expenses carefully.. AND ADIDAS SALE IS JUS ARD E CORNER!!!

last but not least.. gt a letter from GV today.. TA-DA!!!

a complimentary ticket tat cannot be used on public hols and after 5pm on sat.. note.. "A" ticket.. so stingy.. so much for clocking at least 10 movies from 11 dec to 14 jan.. and i was abit touched by their customer service to send the ticket because i overlook e notification mail and didnt collect it.. hahaha.. well but i guess, i shld be more grateful for a free ticket..

torturing to be doing tutorial and studying on a day like this.. it makes it even worse when there is no more internet radio, and tat i dun have a fm tuner in my room.. im like listening to the same old combi of songs.. argh~~~

but den.. even on such a bad day.. beautiful scenes like this do happen..

although its not the nicest i ever seen from my window.. but its definitely quite a beauty.. and even more amazing is that... the sky turned dark within 10 mins of my shot.. beauty of sunset..

my full mark for my mid term!!! e stupid paper.. slight more den an hour can do finish le.. but e test was 2 hrs.. and e lecturer so cheeky.. tutorials all solve using formula.. den half e test is PROVING!!! argh!!! and e best part.. gt one v hard proof which he went thru in lecture, which i copied, BUT NOT INTO MY HELP SHEET!!! but luckily its onli 5 out of 20 marks.. and e 2 solving qns seems v basic and easy.. but den again.. i see ppl like do v long.. abit unsure..

hahaha den on e bus.. i heard smth interesting.. another student was saying tat proving qns was quite difficult.. and he also mention tat e lecturer go thru b4.. but he nv copied into help sheet.. hopefully alot ppl like tat ba..

after tat went out with dear.. heee.. suddenly felt like v long nv go out.. mayb becos of the busy mid term break.. it was not tat smooth however.. suspect x wasnt as nice as expected from its tv series... and many many things also nt v smooth.. hahahah but we had a great day still.. HEEE

from tml onwards.. another busy week.. haiz.. but i guess tats wat make our weekend even sweeter.. kinda like break from all e busy stuff..

e stupid vid project realli burned my mid term break.. kinda feel exhausted.. even now.. didnt realli have a break i wud say..

one more pending project, one more paper, 2 mid term test, erm 2 end of term paper? and den will be e final exam.. geez.. time really flies.. if onli i can freeze the time, and have a good whole day with dear.. worrying abt nth, and jus laze our day off tgt..

cough was bad.. nose was bad.. stuck in aircon whole day.. bleahx..

went for xtra lessons.. amazing that the lect gave us "mock close book exam".. of cos no one knew.. and many had blanks.. and she look so disappointed.. not tat i care.. but i tot tats rather obvious.. expect us to have those info at the back of our head??

after that went to do the video project.. tot i could finish at ard 5 plus 6.. asked my dear for dinner.. hahaha end up finish at 9pm!!!!! was so famished.. so was dear.. so sorry for tat.. anyway e video was rather interesting but tiring at e same time.. can see fatigue and hunger across our face...

imagine e horror i had... when i deleted e extra images and my video was screwed!!!! i quickly restore the deleted files (lucky i nv hit shift del which is more of my habit now on desktop...) AND ITS STILL NOT WORKING!!! tat few hours of work.. GONE!!!

luckily.. one way or another.. i managed to restore it.. phew... left some minor part to finish.. our "video" look quite amateurish though..

my first valentine day.. hehe.. well.. although still gt rm for improvement towards preparation.. but its a nice day well spent.. definitely one of e sweetest date ever.. hehe..

and den gt e funniest of conversation involving crab.. made me feel so silly.. hahaha but dear had a gd time.. so its fine with me..

and den e long way home.. although we initially felt slightly dumb for traveling so far, im somewhat glad we actually did tat.. e journey home was.. well.. sweet~~ heee..

went for a pre-valentine dinner with dear at sweet indulgence.. v nice cosy place.. its rather small.. but its good for small grp gathering.. v cold though as e aircon blew straight at our table.. otherwise, e atmosphere is fantastic.. e service was excellent too..

my pasta with seafood.. first time i ate longer than dear.. too much shells..

my dear spicy prawn aglio olio... she enjoy e spice v much..

e dessert.. warm choco lava indulge.. i tink tats e name.. v interesting dessert.. e hot dark choco is being stored inside a small brownie crust.. e dish look v pretty~~ sweet...

they even give freebies~~ dunno is for v day or nt.. but its lovely..

my laptop... mysteriously... GO ON STRIKE!!!!

ARGH!!!!!

e last time i use it on fri.. was fine.. today.. suddenly flat.. i dun remember draining my batt empty on fri..

couldnt even enter safe mood.. argh.. all my notes and stuff.. luckily managed to find one backup program disc tat comes with e laptop.. trying to savage and backup whatever i can..

haiz... hopefully prob can be solved using e recovery disc.. although tat will mean.. wiping out my hard disk.. argh!!!!

edit 12.30am: WOW.. my laptop 起死回生了!!! thank goodness.. decided to give it a try after the backup finish.. and it amazingly loaded like nth happened!!! jus so when i was waiting for damn long to load it up at first.. anyway thankfully.. its fine now... phew..

actually.. went to sentosa flowers like a week ago.. but becos dear haven go.. so didnt post e pictures.. haha.. anyway went with dear today.. booo stupid rain.. if not we can take nice pics under the sunset sky.. one thing i learn today is.. flowers still look better under clear sky, not dark.. anyway good thing is we managed to catch e movie "bride wars".. hahah quite a nice show.. hopefully my dear wun be in tat situation next time.. wat a sickening way of "starting" e new year..

trip over e wire of my psp and it dropped face dwn!!!! nearing 4 yrs of usage.. first drop.. and there goes my lcd screen.. good thing.. i will be less distracted and focus on work for next 2 weeks.. v v v v bad thing.. its going to be such a bore during cny.. have to yin chou.. stone.. do nth... for long hours.. at e other side of e island.. bleah..

so many years i have been careful and within this few months i dropped my phone and my psp.. argh!!!

mayb getting old or smth.. getting v moody these days.. mayb instead of ang bao.. give me some punching bag for me to fa xie might be v v much better..

went to watch red cliff 2 with dear today... not a bad show.. but wud definitely be much more enjoyable if e aircon wasnt tat cold.. and if my left eye contact stay input instead of dropping off halfway thru e show..

finally managed to get a red shirt.. haiz... cny de bei ai.. why must ang ang...?

had dinner at e pizza place at raffles city.. not bad ah e pizza.. and no gst and service charge!!! although i tink gst might have alr been included..

geez.. was tinking of going walk jp tml afternoon.. see gt any last min stuff to buy.. but end up gotta wait at home to open door for my bro.. and buy lunch... guess im fated to stay at home and start on my paper which is due next sat.. booo.. why cant cny be much more enjoyable? just because e lecturer cannot return home for cny doesnt mean our cny dun exist..
