Earth Hour 2012

was reading the article abt solar storm on newpaper.. is so sci-fic end of world movie material..

from the article:
it is plasma balls spewing from the sun's surface and it can distort the earth's magnetic field.

a major one can destroy many transformers in power grids which are hard to restore.. this will mean no electricity for quite a few countries lasting for months.. (hence my title.. earth hour.. except this time.. is mandatory..)

in fact.. this is what that is causing the beautiful aurora seen near the poles.. e minor ones of cos..

wats e big deal? well.. most of our daily system that we take for granted like communications, sewage, medical, transport.... most of them depend on electricity will be affected.. satellites fail.. in fact it happened b4.. but not a "earth" scale..

was so interesting that i googled and found this.. a documentary+fiction of wat may happen.. watch the video for more interesting facts.. ironically, its called perfect disaster..

but then again.. this is prediction.. at least from the video clips, we still have a 50% chance that the polarity might be in our favor.. hahahaha..
